About Our Community Climate Emergency Strategy

Our Strategy

Our strategy is focused on reducing and ultimately eliminating fossil fuel use in our buildings, transportation, and economy through electrification. Our strategy focuses on protecting our environment and enhancing biodiversity. Our strategy focuses on creating a sustainable local food system and ensuring that our community remains physically and mentally able to meet the challenges ahead.

A Living Resource of Local Stories

We believe there are many way to address the challenges of climate change, biodiversity loss and energy affordability and security and therefore our strategy is not a single Strategy but a store of Community Stories

It features local Stories of climate action from residents and organisations, showcasing their efforts to help the environment and save money, making it a truly community-created resource.

It is a living resource that will be continually updated to reflect policy trends and technologies and will be available online and as a printed book made available in local libraries and community centres across the borough.

We have divided our stories into 6 themes that are shown below.
